The reserves travelled to Swan Athletic on the weekend looking to get 4 points on the board, but, as in previous weeks were unable to finish the game off and went down by 6 points.
With us now having lost 5 games by a goal or less we find ourselves in a position where we need to complete 4 quarters to get ourselves back in the hunt.
While we have plenty of contributors and plenty of the football lack of scoreboard pressure is not helping our cause.
Better players on the weekend were: polony, barbs, goodpav, pridda, ferret and shamrock.

The reserves bounced back to some form against Swan View on the weekend, with a few players coming back from injury and a handful of last years colts making there debut there was a real energy about the way we went about our business.
A solid four quarter effort saw us runout comfortable winners. Solid contributions from all players made the win more enjoyable.
For all those detractors on footygoss I hope this match report is considered more positive!
Better Players on the weekend were: J Maloney, Head, Pridda, Missy Higgins and Cannon.

In another frustrating game we failed to get over Willeton by 5 points, this after letting them get out to a 5 goal lead just short of 3/4 time.
While we haven't had the chance to settle the side and work more closely on our set ups and general game structures this is still no excuse for our general lack of accountability.
We now have it all ahead of us as we are now 6th with a game against 5th this week, followed by a game against the unbeaten leaders the following week. There are only 6 teams in it and unless we extract the digit we will be left to rue some ordinary performances.
Better players were: Cal,Painey,Gutters,Adair & Nowellsy.
ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL!!! |

Round 6 against Willetton was always going to be a hard task for the Colts. We started strongly and were within a goal at the first break but were 5 goals down at half time. In the 3rd quarter we started to fight back and outpointed Willetton by 3 goals in the 4th quarter to eventually go down 9, 4 (58) to Willetton’s 12, 12 (84).
We need to take our 4th quarter efforts into next week’s game against top of the ladder Scarborough, the only undefeated team in the competition.
Welcome back Cougar and thanks Steve for filling in. |
